The Purpose of Concept Art

Concept art is one of the first stages of creating a game, ideas of art work is needed to help the artists and the concept designer to give an overall view of the work. Its very important that all art work is reviewed because creating a game needs to be perfect and it has to match the description of the characters look a like. For example World of Warcraft is based on a Fantasy war game, characters such as Orcs and Trolls need to be drawn to their description or else it wouldn't match the character personality.
What's also important for concept art is the right personality for each characters, because for characters such as Orcs, Trolls, and beasts the drawings need to be scary, big bulky frames and the of course there description has to match.

This picture shows an Orc, as soon as you can see it you suddenly realise how big and bulky the character is. This is why the description is very important to match the characters description.

There are many types of different art work such as futuristic to modern art work. Creating various art work makes art a better subject because people use there imagination and passion to create wonderful pieces of work.
